Sidney Cech joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2023. Her research interests include sexual and reproductive health service delivery in global settings, adolescent pregnancy and unmet need for contraception. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Cech worked on monitoring and evaluation for health and development programming in low- and middle-income countries, including collaborations with a variety of nonprofits and multilateral organizations. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine and Tanzania. Ms. Cech earned her MPH from the Yale School of Public Health, her MA from the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs and her BA in French and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
