Mercedes Pérez joined the Guttmacher Institute in June 2006. As the Director of Administrative Services, she oversees office supply and equipment procurement as well as office space maintenance and management. Ms. Pérez reports to the Vice President for Finance & Administration, with whom she works to plan and execute capital improvement projects, select vendors and negotiate contracts, and ensure that daily office operations are running smoothly.
In 2009, she served on the Sustainability Committee at the Institute’s New York office building, helping to plan its mechanical retrofit and achieve LEED certification. In September 2014, she began serving as the Institute’s representative on the Board of Managers for the 125 Maiden Lane Condominium and with the Alliance for Downtown New York. Ms. Pérez holds a BA from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York.
