Rubina Hussain joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2001. Her research interests include unmet need for contraception, unintended pregnancy and abortion; her work encompasses global research as well as national studies in several developing countries. Prior to arriving at the Institute, Ms. Hussain investigated behavioral risk factors associated with STIs while working as a consultant for the Detroit Department of Health. She earned a BS in microbiology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an MPH in epidemiology from the University of Michigan.
