Sammy Raucher (she/her) is a Public Policy Assistant at the Guttmacher Institute, which she joined in 2024. In this role, she supports the Public Policy Division’s global, federal and state policy initiatives and manages the Washington, DC office. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Raucher was a UC Berkeley John Gardner Public Service Fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union, where she tracked and analyzed federal abortion legislation and coordinated national reproductive freedom field campaigns. During her undergraduate years, she interned in the California State Senate and the US House of Representatives and led the creation and revision of social justice–oriented data science curricula on campus. Ms. Raucher graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in data science.
