Rebecca Wind is the Director of Administrative Operations for the Communications & Publications Division at the Guttmacher Institute. In this role, she is responsible for the administrative functioning of the division, including budgeting, allocation of labor and other resources, staff professional development, grant reporting and contracts with partner organizations, oversight of special projects and management of conference participation. She coordinates management processes within the division and with other divisions to ensure cross-departmental communication and collaboration. Ms. Wind joined the Institute in 2001 as a Senior Communications Associate, and served as Associate Director of Communications for four years prior to her current role.
Ms. Wind also served as the Treasurer of the Board of the New York Abortion Access Fund, a position she held from 2010 to 2017. She came to the Institute from Hill and Knowlton, Inc., where she worked on a variety of corporate and marketing communications media relations campaigns. She received her BA in international relations and Judaic studies from the University of Delaware; her MA in public policy and administration from Columbia University, where she concentrated in gender policy; and her MS in social work from Columbia University, where she received the Mae L. Wien Prize, which is awarded to an outstanding student with a focus on reproductive health.
