Mariam Gulaid joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2023 as a Senior Research Associate. Her interest areas include access to family planning, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and qualitative and mixed method research. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Gulaid served as a Policy Advisor at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where she worked on initiatives to advance evidence-based policymaking and practice nationwide. She has also worked on national and global projects at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Boston Public Health Commission, Columbia University’s Center for Sustainable Development, United Nations Children’s Fund and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Ms. Gulaid holds an MPH in behavioral, social and health education sciences from Emory University and a BA in sociology from Columbia University.
