Ava Braccia joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2021 as a Research Assistant I. Her research interests include family planning and formation, abortion and sex education, with a focus on qualitative methodologies. Ms. Braccia has supported projects exploring contraceptive service provision in the United States and abortion access in domestic and international contexts. Prior to joining the Institute, she worked as a bilingual contact tracer for NYC Health + Hospitals, conducting interviews in English and Spanish with residents who tested positive for or were exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Braccia received her BA in sociology and Latin American and Latino studies from Fordham University in 2020.
