Protecting the Next Generation: Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health - Africa
The Guttmacher Institute is working with research and communications partners in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria and Uganda—with technical assistance from project partners in Kenya—to address the growing epidemics of unintended pregnancy and HIV/AIDS among adolescents in Sub-Saharan Africa. These projects aim to communicate new knowledge from nationwide research to a broad audience of policymakers, media, health care providers, NGOs, parents and teachers in order to stimulate the development of improved youth-serving policies and programs. Support for these projects come from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Services and The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
